It was originally commissioned by the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (C.N.D.) and created by artist Gerald Holtom. Completed on February 21, 1958, it was first used publicly during the Easter Week March from London to the Atomic Weapons Research facility at Aldermaston, England.

These small, self-sticking labels are more important than you might think they are: they make it possible for people to contact your group or business to order more buttons. Put one on the back of every button you sell. 1/2" tall x 3/4" self-stick paper labels; your own wording on 4 lines (13 upper case characters per line or 21 lower case characters per line). Your choice of one of the following Ink Colors: Black, Red, Green, Blue, Brown, Purple or Burgundy.
Your choice of one of the following Paper Colors: White Gloss, Yellow Gloss or Red Fluorescent paper. (Note: ink colors other than black do not show up in their accurate color on the red fluorescent paper).
There are a total of seventeen ink & paper color combinations possible. You may only choose one ink and one paper color per order of 500.
